I now use AI agents first before trying to search for something on the internet. I find they usually do a better job of getting me to the answer I'm seeking. I like how Perplexity footnotes its sources.
Do you think running local LLMs is the current best way to really integrate AI usage into your working life? As opposed to “going” to a hosted one, which feels like more of an explicit conscious action.
yes, although I think that it will be a lot more apps like MacWhisper, which can create systemwide keyboard shortcuts, and embed their AI processes into whatever app you’re using.
Also, I suspect that over time, unless the major service providers figure out how to handle their content restriction as well, people will abandon those services for ones that run locally, but don’t run into absurd restrictions, like not being able to say a certain name.
